Established evidence-based dosing

The BOTOX® procedure1

  • Placed directly into the detrusor muscle using a cystoscope
  • 30 intradetrusor injections of 1 mL
  • 6.7 Units per 1-mL injection (200 Units)
  • 1-mL saline flush

As few as 2 treatments a year1,*

  • Chronic condition that requires ongoing treatment1
  • In-office administration
  • Patient time in office: 30 to 60 minutes
  • Local anesthesia1
  • No postprocedure restrictions (eg, unless required with use of sedatives)1

*Patients should be considered for reinjection when the clinical effect of the previous injection diminishes (median time to qualification for re-treatment in the double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies was 295-337 days [42-48 weeks] for BOTOX® 200 Units), but no sooner than 12 weeks from the prior bladder injection.1

Important treatment considerations1

  • Patient must not have a urinary tract infection (UTI) at the time of treatment
  • Patient must stop taking antiplatelets at least 3 days prior to procedure
  • Prophylactic antibiotics (except aminoglycosides) should be given to patient prior to and after the procedure
